Writing Tips:
First Steps -- Getting a Writing Project Up and Moving
Basic Books on Writing:
1. A Dictionary - We use Merriam-Webster Online, which provides a free dictionary and thesaurus at www.m-w.com.
2. The Elements of Style, by William Strunk Jr. and E.B. White. This is a classic aid on grammar and style in an easy to understand and use format. The paperback edition usually sells for around $10.
3. Eats, Shoots & Leaves: The Zero Tolerance Approach to Punctuation , by Lynne Truss. Even for people who love words, most books on punctuation are, well, dull. Not this one. Truss finds a way to make it a fun read. You can find this for under $10.
