FUEL & THE FLAME >> About the Author

Steve Shadrach has a passion for raising up laborers for Christ from the university campuses of the world. Even though he grew up attending FCA and Highland Park Presbyterian Church in Dallas, Texas, he didn't commit his life to Christ until age 18. During his college years at the University of Arkansas, he worked with Campus Crusade and The Navigators and spent his summers as head counselor at Kanakuk Kamps. After graduating from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1983, Steve became Pastor of Students and Missions at University Baptist Church in Fayetteville, Arkansas-with over 800 students involved. Having received training at the U.S. Center for World Missions in 1985, he began starting and teaching Perspectives on the World Christian Movement courses and leading Haystack Missions Conferences.

In 1986, Steve founded the campus ministry, Student Mobilization, which focuses on evangelizing and discipling college students in the South Central United States. After he and his family spent a year in Ukraine helping to establish a campus ministry, Steve helped launch the "Day of Discovery" World Missions Seminars (now Nvision) and the nationwide missions mobilization effort called "The Traveling Teams." He completed a Doctorate of Ministry in Church and Para church Executive Leadership at Denver Seminary, has been published in numerous magazines and journals, writes a monthly article for Focus on the Family (www.boundless.org), and is an adjunct professor for Trinity Evangelical Seminary.

Steve and his wife Carol, along with their five children, live in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He serves as the Director of Mobilization for the U.S. Center for World Mission, where he oversees the Perspectives course movement and the Global Kingdom Community Campaign. He is also President of "The BodyBuilders," a ministry committed to building up the body of Christ through the development of ministry tools, seminars, and publications. Steve and his team provide teaching, training, and consulting for churches, campus ministries, and Christian organizations around the world.
