Why do we call the seminar Boot Camp?
One participant said this, "The concept of Boot Camp communicates well. The military requires Boot Camp before a soldier is sent off to their assignment; likewise support raising is the Boot Camp for many missionaries. It is both a learning and testing time."

When is the next Boot Camp?
We do not personally host Boot Camps.* We are invited by organizations to come and train their staff how to raise their personal support. An organization will contact us, we agree on the details and dates of the seminar and we come do the training. If your organization is interested in a Boot Camp you can contact info@TheBodyBuilders.net or call (800) 595-4881.

If you are an individual in need of training, we encourage you to talk to the leadership of your ministry to determine if a Boot Camp would be helpful for your group. Normally, we require at least 10 staff members to warrant coming to do a Boot Camp.

*At most of our Boot Camps there is room for guests from other ministries to register. Anyone can register for a Boot Camp that offers guest spots, but you will want to register early to guarantee a spot. Click here for more information.

Why does Boot Camp charge what it does?
The seminar trainer receives no compensation for his services. He has raised his full support . The reasons we charge are:

  1. To help you understand the importance and value of this training.
  2. When you raise the funds and/or invest yourself, you are more likely to prepare for and apply the training.
  3. We want to produce materials, videos, and web sites that can help Christian workers around the world fully fund their visions.

What if I can't go to a Boot Camp?
If there is absolutely no way you can participate in a Boot Camp, then purchase the book " Funding Your Ministry" by Scott Morton anyway. Read it thoroughly and work through all the exercises. Follow the guidelines closely. Find an accountability partner who will help you follow through.
Another resource is Bill Dillon's support raising video tape series called "People Raising". You can order it at: www.peopleraising.com

What if I can't afford the time or money to come to a Boot Camp?
Do not let lack of time or money keep you from a Boot Camp. You may think that you can't fit the preparation requirements or two days of training into your schedule. Or you may think that you can't afford the seminar fee or cost of getting there. Our answer? You can't afford NOT to spend the time and money! It takes time and money to raise your support properly. What is 3-4 days of your life when you may very well be trying to raise a lifelong support team? What is a couple hundred dollar investment compared to the thousands you will be trying to raise each year? For most participants, the seminar costs represent less than 10% of what only one of their monthly paychecks will be. Quite a return on your investment!

How do I prepare for Boot Camp?
With a lot of hard work! The more you put in to the preparation, the more you will get out of the seminar. The seminar is primarily helping you to apply the things you have prepared. In order to get the discount you must complete all the assignments and spend at least 24 hours doing them. Some spend 30-40 hours or possibly up to 50 hours in preparation for the Boot Camp. Read the requirements section very carefully before beginning. Click here to view the requirements.

I have had other training in this area, should I still come to a Boot Camp?
Some ministries do an excellent job training their staff how to raise support, some do not. Do not underestimate the value of getting top notch training in this area. It could make you or break you in your ministry. If you feel like your training has not been thorough or you have raised support but are not yet at 100%, a Boot Camp will be very valuable to you.

I have already read Funding Your Ministry by Morton, would I still benefit from a Boot Camp? Yes. We require you to work through all the exercises in the book, along with a number of other assignments. The combination of the extensive preparation and the 18 hours of intense training is a powerful one-two punch that can launch you into a successful support raising campaign.
